IT Support Officer - Leicester

Job purpose
The post holder is responsible for providing support to all Leicester City Council users. Working across multiple sites throughout the Leicester City area, including some
home-based workers. Supporting Desktops / Laptops / Tablets and peripheral devices.

The post will use a wide range of systems knowledge and skills in operating a range of applications and hardware to resolve service calls as quickly as possible to enable the
customer to continue to deliver their business service.

This role requires someone that is experienced in rolling out IT equipment, a problem solver who can quickly establish the cause of the issue through appropriate questions and enable a solution as quickly as possible, whilst always delivering a high level of diplomacy, confidence and customer care.

You will
Support system enhancements, developments and administration tasks for a defined group of applications/systems including: upgrades; setting up users; supporting users and managing the security of the system or application. Responsible for providing support to all users in the management and administration of the defined application and information systems

Support maintaining security and integrity of applications and systems and the sensitive and highly confidential data they contain. This includes council, partner and external client user profile access rights and public access rights.

Consult with internal and external system users on reporting, alerting and system requirements, creating specifications based on requirements to ensure that requirements are able to be built using a range of different development tools, skills and approaches. Manages user acceptance testing of all deliverables.

Requirements of the post
- Experience of working in an IT desktop support role within a large organisation.

- Experience of supporting Windows 10, Networking fundamentals, Active Directory, Skype for business, Anti-Virus, SCSM and O365.

- Experience of rolling out laptops, desktop and tablets to a large organisation.

- Knowledge of relevant legislation, guidelines and best practice and keep up to date as they change.

- Working knowledge of ITIL Incidents, Service Request, Problems and Change management.

- Experience of imaging laptops, desktop and tablets using Microsoft Service Configuration Manager (SCCM).

Additional information
Salary: £24,799 - £26,999 per annum

Full Time, Fixed Term Post for 12 months due to funding.
